#VIDCON – Instagram Tips and Strategies

CreatorUp.com sponsored a significant extended session which discussed Facebook, Youtube, Instagram and Snapchat.  I am not really a Snapchat user.  But I do use Facebook, YouTube and Instagram.

Each Platform Requires You to Understand its Attributes for Effective Use

CRITICAL UNDERSTANDING:  Each platform has its own approach in terms of its audience, style, length, intensity and more.

Facebook, I was surprised to learn, has more videos watched without audio than with audio.

Instagram is a fascinating platform and growing exponentially it seems.  The platform has more diversity than Twitter which is so limiting.  Instagram has a lot of other attributes such as being more brand friendly, photo-visual driven and a storytelling capacity in terms of one’s journey.

The young lady who led the session was dynamic and interesting, very clear about her information.

Case Study:  Ali Spagnola

Also called ”SpagsChat”, she asked for $1 from her followers to keep making YouTube videos and Instagram. Her Instagram followers were a stronger base so she asked them for $1 in making her videos.  They agreed and she made over $1,500 per video.  She posts about 15 videos per day so she’s making good money.  She received the money through Patreon Payments.

What is Patreon?    https://www.patreon.com/info

What is Patreon?

Patreon is a way to join your favorite creator’s community and pay them for making the stuff you love! Our goal is to give creators and artists a sustainable monthly income, so Patreon is recurring funding. You’ll be billed per-month or per-creation, depending on your creators campaign, while you are actively pledging to a creator.

She analyzed the Instagram methodology and had various information cards to delineate Good practices and strategies.    Ali also links between YouTube and Instagram for a place of discovery and a place of monetization.

You can use various analytics for the Instagram platform.  I have been trying out SocialReport.com and want to see how it works with Instagram.

The Instagram Overview was very good in terms of getting steps to consider when implementing an Instagram strategy.

CRITICAL: You must have a Strategy.  Who is your audience?  What do you want to accomplish with this specific Instagram platform?

Tools – to know what you’re doing, how well you’re doing it and where you can improve.  These are called

“Analytics” to give you information on Big Data from your Creative efforts and your followers.  I have checked out Naritiv and heard about Snaplytics.

Always lots of research and new options which you should check out carefully to formulate your Tech Plan.  Yes, you need a strategy to reach your audience but you also need a Technology Plan.
